Hi Limelite Families, 

I am so excited to announce … LIMELITE DANCE STUDIO RECITAL 2026 

Our annual recital will be held at the beautiful… Lyman Center for the Performing Arts in New Haven at 501 Crescent Street on Sunday, May 31st at 1:00 PM sharp. Dancers and families will arrive at noon to get ready and take their seats.

This is an incredibly beautiful professional theater, and I am thrilled to be able to hold our recital at such a prestigious venue. 

DRESS REHEARSAL

Full dress rehearsal will also take place at Lyman Center for the Performing Arts on Tuesday, May 26th, from 4:30 PM - 8:30 PM. 

  • Dancers can arrive in their first costume and report to the dressing rooms. 

    • Dancers in Act I can arrive at 4:30 PM

    • Dancers in Act II can arrive at 6:15 PM

  • One parent can sit in the auditorium until their child is finished

    • Only one parent is allowed to attend, with no guests

    • No student can be left unattended

  • Once your dancer has rehearsed all of their routines, they are free to leave

  • Please come in full costume, makeup, and hair!

TICKET SALES

Tickets will go on sale on Sunday, March 29th, at the Guilford Studio from 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM. 

Seats are assigned and on a first come basis. After ticket sales, available seats will be for purchase until sold out at the Guilford Studio during class times. Due to high service charges, we can only accept checks, cash or Venmo. After purchase, tickets are non-refundable 

All tickets are assigned seating, and we have no limit to the number of tickets you can purchase this year. Tickets are $45 each and are on a first-come basis. Tickets can not be purchased for students. We will give out lap passes for preschool students. 

RECITAL DAY

  • The curtains open at 1:00 PM sharp

  • Dancers must report to the dressing rooms at noon and get ready to perform.

  • Dancers are not allowed in the audience on recital day.

  • Dancers will arrive in full costume, hair, and make up. Dancers will need to be warmed up and ready to take the stage!

  • Provide your child with snacks, water, and activities to wait. The dressing rooms will be strictly monitored by backstage staff. 

  • Pre-school students will receive a lap pass to go into the auditorium and watch until the finale. 

FINALE

  • All students are required to come on stage for the finale. Please inform us if you leave before the finale with your young dancer.

  • Every dancer will receive a beautiful medal!

  • Lap pass students will line up with a parent backstage 5 routines before the end of the recital 

  • Reminder that rewarding your child with flowers on recital day is customary. 

    • Feel free to leave them backstage with your child so they can have them on stage! 

RECITAL COSTUMES

  • Recital costumes are beautiful this year! They have been ordered, and we can’t wait to see them on stage.

    • When you are paid in full, families can pick up their costume during ticket sales or class time

  • Please try on your costumes as soon as possible to ensure they fit. 

    • We need at least 6 weeks to return sizes

  • Recital costumes are $90 per class 

    • Deposits of $50 per class were due with the second trimester payment

    • Balances of $40 are due with the third trimester payment on March 1st

  • Costumes include all accessories as well as tights .

HAIR, MAKEUP, & FOOTWEAR

  • A heavy application of makeup is required for the stage. 

    • This includes eye shadow, blush, and true red lipstick. 

  • For our older dancers, also apply eyeliner and mascara… THE WORKS! 

  • Glitter and gems are always acceptable

  • Hairstyles will be communicated by your instructor prior to dress rehearsal. 

  • Check with your instructor ahead of time for the footwear required for your classes. 

  • It is very important that dancers wear NO JEWELRY. 

    • Tiny studs are acceptable

DANCE PICTURE WEEK

Dance pictures will occur from May 4th - 10th at the Guilford Studio. There will be no regular classes this week!

  • Arrive at the Guilford Studio during your normal class time in costume. 

    • 17 Water Street

  • Madison students will come to the Guilford location during regular class times as well

  • Morning classes will get a designated afternoon time slot, which will be communicated by your instructor

  • Once an individual and class photo is taken, dancers are free to go

FRIENDLY REMINDER

  • 3rd trimester is due on March 1st, with the remainder of the costume balance ($40 per class)

Our recitals are always extraordinary because of YOU.  We are so incredibly blessed to have such an amazing Limelite family community. 

Dance recitals are truly special. Some of my fondest memories are from my own dance recitals growing up. It has been even more meaningful to watch my daughters grow up here. We are so happy to be able to create those same magical moments and share them with our wonderful Limelite families. Our teachers have poured their hearts into every rehearsal, working hard to create these beautiful moments on stage and to showcase each child’s unique talent, growth, and confidence. 

There is nothing greater than witnessing your children learn, grow, and step confidently onto that stage. The recital is more than just a performance - it is a celebration of their hard work, courage, friendships, and growth all year long. It is the icing on the cake, and we are so grateful to experience it together as one beautiful Limelite family.
